What should be in a Website Privacy Statement?

A Website Privacy Statement (view sample template Website Privacy Statement) should be drafted in consultation with the school's/ETB’s website designer/website provider. The Website Privacy Statement should be placed on the homepage and provide all necessary information to visitors to the school/ETB website.

As a matter of good practice, the Website Privacy Statement should be reviewed and updated periodically, particularly if any changes are made to the way the website collects information, any redevelopment of the website, if there is a new web hosting arrangement put in place or as a result of any feedback from users of the website.

The Website Privacy Statement does not have to be approved by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
